The club was very sorry to hear of the passing of Eric King following a long illness.
Eric was a long-serving member of the club, also acting as club treasurer for over 20 years. A highly skilled joiner and carpenter, Eric was also a fine modeller, both in the mediums of kit building and scratch building - many of his structures have graced the club's layouts over the years.
His particular interest was mainly Southern and BR Southern region, and he had a broad knowledge of the details and idiosyncrasies of the railways of that time; which he was happy to share with fellow club members with his customary style and dry humour.
